Neither. My son has had severe vomiting and diarrhoea all week, and has passed it on (Thanks!!) to everyone else in the family. He got it at nursery, almost every other child in his room has it, or has had it in the past week. I don’t blame the nursery - these things just happen. People get ill.
Heston has done everything he needed to, it’s just one of those unfortunate things.
Fatuous self congratulation and a large pinch of ‘head up ones own @rse’ in my opinion. I don’t doubt the guy is a genius, did you see the Victorian feast thing? My only problem with it is that there wasn’t one thing that made me go “Mmm, that looks nice” Too much messing about with food and not much real substance!

It’s probably a virus but for it to have been passed on to his customers in one evening I’m presuming one of his staff was the source, in which case maybe their hygiene standards need improving. Those viruses are nasty though and easily spread.
Apparently, they all have what is commonly known as Mediaitis! This disease starts with a select few obtaining a bout of food poisioning in a popular restaurant, then, due to an increase in media activity, the bug develops and morphs to this highly contaigous form!
Symptoms include skiving off work, lying, induced vomiting and a heavy dose of laxatives.
In other words, some will have food poisoning, but most will fake it for their moment of fame.

I have a friend who is an Environmental health officer. 10 years ago she was on the ‘restaurants’ section…lets just say our choice of eateries halved overnight.
It was always the nicest looking restaurants that had the worst horror stories.
I’m not saying this is the case with the Fat Duck cos these things do just happen..it doesn’t always indicate hygiene or such like -communicable diseases amongst humans is just the price we pay for being pack animals!
I read this week that Heston shaves his hair because he has really tight curls and it would look like an afro…this has freaked me far more than the other news…Can you see him with mad curly hair?
